Tintern Schools is offering a limited number of Academic and Music Scholarships. Students entering Year 7 in 2011 wishing to attend the Girls Grammar or the Boys Grammar are encouraged to apply.

Academic Scholarship
Applicants will be awarded an Academic Scholarship on the basis of the results of scholarship selection testing, the student profile, the two most recent School reports, the latest Naplan results and an interview. Academic Scholarships are offered to selected students who demonstrate special abilities in a range of academic areas and show a willingness and ability to contribute to School life. Academic Scholarships provide up to 50% off annual school tuition fees.

Academic & Music Scholarship
Applicants should be preparing for at least AMEB 4^th Grade*. Applicants are required to complete the Academic Scholarship Test and will be awarded a scholarship on the basis of the results of the testing, music audition, the student profile, the two most recent School reports, latest Naplan results and an interview. Music tuition fee remission is based on 30 lessons per year at the rates applying for extra-curricular music tuition at Tintern Schools.

*Students learning brass instruments and who are preparing for at least AMEB 3^rd Grade may also apply.

Music Audition
Applicants should prepare two pieces for presentation at the audition (week of 15 to 19 February 2010) and are required to provide their own accompanist if needed. Please contact the school if assistance is required with locating a suitable accompanist. Sight-reading, aural tests, general knowledge and technical work may also be required. At the time of audition, students must show a high level of technical and musical proficiency on their instrument.

Details of Testing
The Scholarship Selection testing will take place on Saturday, 20 February 2010 at the Tintern Girls Grammar Campus in Ringwood East; exact times will be confirmed. The scholarship fee is $60.00.

Scholarship Application Requirements
To apply, please complete the EduTest online registration form and the Tintern Schools Application form (Student Profile) no later than Monday 8 February 2010 for Academic and Music Scholarship applicants and Sunday 14 February 2010 for Academic Scholarship applicants.
