Tintern Schools’ two campuses sparkle after summer works program
While school families were enjoying their summer break, our hard working maintenance staff tackled a huge number of improvement projects that students and teachers will enjoy.
Refurbishments include a stylish new deck for Tintern Year 8s, a totally revamped and now sparkling Year 9 building, and a myriad of upgrades from offices to computers, lecture theatres, computer labs, audio visual facilities and chairs and tables.
The 2009 refurbishments are important works included in the facilities component of the Tintern Schools Strategic Plan.
Here are some of the other highlights for summer 2009.
- Pre-Preps at Tintern are enjoying a brand new sandpit, complete with encircling bike track that our students love.
- Tintern’s Years 3 to 6 class rooms, relocated to the Colebrook wing, now sport bright green feature walls – a colour chosen by our students – plus an extra fan to help beat the heat.
- We’ve upgraded the audio visual in our Lecture Theatre, and provided new chairs and tables for the Speagle Science Laboratories
- Our hardworking IT Team are enjoying an upgrade to their office
- The Anderson Centre now has an additional computer lab, and we’ve also purchased156 new computers and several new ‘green’ and more efficient photocopiers.
- Finally, we’ve completed a total tidy up of our Southwood Campus, and purchased some new outdoor furniture to match!
A big thank you goes to our maintenance team for all their hard work on behalf of our students, teachers and admin staff.
