Strategic Vision
Tintern 2020 is about creating one of the best-resourced Schools in the outer east of Melbourne. Tintern Schools will develop this learning environment in a single location — one which will provide a distinct place for every boy and every girl.
This vision is the result of collaboration with the school community and aims to ensure the School can grow and develop based upon three key principles:
- Increasing student numbers.
- Maintaining fees at a level comparable to other leading Melbourne Independent Schools.
- Building a stable financial base to fund needed infrastructure and retire debt.
The Tintern Parallel Learning Model
The Tintern Model is based on Parallel Learning. At Tintern Schools, Parallel Learning means boys and girls learning in distinct buildings, learning and recreational environments from Prep to Year 9, before coming together in the Senior College. This model was first envisaged by Tintern in the early 90's.
The current Board continues to believe Parallel Learning is the best approach for providing a distinct path for each girls and boy to ensure that they can fully realise their personal potential in a rapidly changing world. Tintern has proven that it provides broad life education for students to become well-grounded, educated and happy young adults.
