2021 Scholarship Process

Applications for 2021 are now open.

Applications are invited for Academic, Music, General Excellence and Alumni Scholarships for entry in 2021.

Entry Years & Scholarship Requirements

Internal and external students entering Years 5, 7 and 10 in 2021 are invited to apply for a Tintern Grammar Scholarship. These Scholarships are valid until the end of Year 12.

Academic/Alumni Applicants will be awarded a Scholarship on the basis of the results of:

  • Scholarship selection testing – provided by EduTest
  • Completed Tintern Grammar Scholarship Application Form
  • Recent School Reports
  • NAPLAN Results
  • Interview
  • Financial disclosure upon request (Alumni candidates only)

General Excellence/Music Applicants will be awarded a Scholarship on the basis of the results of:

  • Scholarship selection testing – provided by EduTest
  • Completed Tintern Grammar Scholarship Application Form
  • Recent School Reports
  • NAPLAN Results
  • Supporting documentation
  • Interview
  • Outstanding all-round potential
  • Leadership potential
  • Excellence in a specific area (EG: Arts, Sports, Community Service, Leadership)
  • Music Audition demonstrating excellence on their chosen instrument (Music Scholarships only). Auditions will take place in the week of 14-18 October 2019.

Scholarships are offered to selected students who demonstrate special abilities in a range of academic areas and show a willingness and ability to contribute to School life.

Scholarship Sitting

The Scholarship Selection testing will take place on Saturday 12 October 2019 commencing at 8.15am at Tintern Grammar. Further details regarding testing will be emailed in the week prior to the Scholarship sitting. The Scholarship registration fee is $100.00. Applications close on Friday 4 October 2019.

Application Process

  1. Complete the EduTest online registration and pay the registration fee of $100.00. Please note: for students who sat NAPLAN in May, you will receive these results in early September. You can submit your application without the 2019 NAPLAN results and provide them when at a later stage.
  2. Download and complete the Tintern Grammar Scholarship Application Form and attach copies of your last two school reports, NAPLAN results and any supporting documentation relating to your Scholarship application.
  3. Hard Copy of Application Documents to be sent or delivered (by mail/in person) to:

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Soft copies of applications or USBs will not be accepted.
  • Scholarship applications close on Friday 4 October 2019.

Successful Candidates

Students will be shortlisted for an interview after scholarship test results have been received. Shortlisted students will be interviewed by a panel, where the following will be considered:

  • Academic performance
  • Leadership potential
  • Ability to contribute to the school and the broader community

  • Scholarships are open to all internal and external students.
  • You must hold Australia Citizenship or Australian Permanent Residency to apply.
  • Results from the independent examination will not be released to parents.
  • Scholarship applications close on Friday 4 October 2019.
