Congratulations to Sarah Chen (Year 10) who recently was selected as a finalist in the Tenth Annual Bach Competition. The competition is open to young musicians (17 years and under) passionate about the music of Johann Sebastien Bach. To reach the final, Sarah submitted a video recording of a performance of a work by J.S. Bach. With a $4,000 first prize purse on offer, it is not surprising that this is a hotly contested competition in the Melbourne music world.

The Performance Final will be held at Melbourne Recital Centre on Sunday 16 June 2019 at 3.00pm at the Elisabeth Murdoch Hall, Melbourne Recital Centre. Entry to this event is free and can be booked through the Melbourne Recital Centre via this link. This is a popular event, so if you are interested in attending, do book well in advance. Tickets already are limited in the Stalls area, but there are plenty left in the Circle at this stage. The competition winners will be announced, and their prizes will be awarded at the conclusion of the Performance Final. We wish Sarah all the best as she prepares for her performance in this prestigious competition.
