Tintern Grammar Concert Band takes out Silver Award at Victorian Schools Music Festival
On Wednesday 30 August, the Concert Band travelled to Hawthorn to perform in the VSMF (Victoria Schools Music Festival) in the Junior Concert Band section. There were several other schools there, such as Blackburn Primary School, Waverley Christian College, Wesley College, and Fountain Gate Secondary College. For our performance of Roger Schmidli’s Beyond the Void, and Robert Sheldon’s arrangement of “Annie Laurie,” titled A Scottish Ballade, we received a Silver Award. The chief adjudicator, Dr Ralph Hultgren, worked primarily with us on the sound and dynamics of our pieces, whilst making some jokes along the way. A huge thanks to Mrs Clarke for her hard work with us!
