The competition was fierce, the creativity impressive and the dishes delicious at this year's MasterChef House Competition.

Thirty teams of Years 8-10 students represented their Houses across four exciting challenges, from a school-wide scavenger hunt and mystery box cook-off to creating dishes inspired by House colours and designing a Tintern-themed cupcake worthy of the grand final.

The team behind the Factis non verbis cupcake, featuring a rice paper topper that disappeared to reveal the mitre beneath, said that Tintern is full of fun and surprises within. 'You wouldn't expect what you saw,' Charlotte explained.

From blue sushi and green tea desserts to homemade ube jam and beautifully decorated cupcakes, students showcased outstanding teamwork, culinary skill and imagination throughout the competition.

Congratulations to all participants for embracing the challenge and making this year's MasterChef competition another fantastic success.

Learning comes to life when students have the opportunity to put their ideas into action.
Our Term 2 Year 5 Business Expo challenged students to think like entrepreneurs as they planned, created and operated their own businesses. Along the way, they explored everything from marketing and budgeting to customer service and teamwork, gaining firsthand insight into what it takes to turn an idea into reality.

One of the highlights of the term was our Jazz musicians' trip to the Generations in Jazz Festival in Mount Gambier, South Australia.

Performing alongside some of Australia's most talented young musicians, our two Stage Bands and four Jazz Combos showcased their musicianship, teamwork and creativity, earning outstanding feedback from adjudicators. A special congratulations to Combo Blue, who achieved an impressive sixth place in their division.

Beyond the performances, students were inspired by world-class musicians, including an unforgettable concert by Tower of Power, and returned with lasting memories and a renewed passion for jazz. No wonder our students are already counting down the days until next year’s festival, which celebrates 40 years of Generations in Jazz!
